Human trafficking is an increasingly prominent risk for women and children on the world and in Asian Pacific as well, as the negative side of market economy and open policy with deeper integration and cultural exchange. Women and children trafficking become more complicated in various provinces and cities in Vietnam. The Government Action Plan (2007-2011) to combat trafficking was approved with participation of all line ministries. Development of the Action Plan has been contributed by numerous international organizations.
As the contribution to the above Government Action Plan 2007-1011, the project “Strengthening capacity and accountability of local authorities and community support to women and children to combat human trafficking in Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh province” have been developed under cooperation of the Center for Development and Integration (CDI) and Ninh Binh Provincial Women’s Union and support of the Luxembourg Embassy in Hanoi. The model of pilot integration in Ninh Binh aims to prevent and reduce the risks of exploitation and trafficking for groups of women, children at high risk and their families about safe migration and anti-trafficking and hence promote their rights to access to public services and information.
